‘Rock’n’Roll is Pretty Exciting’ was the stage musical of the Sedgemorons band and written by the band members -Brian Smedley, Anne Dixey, Stuart Croskell, Gareth Beasley and Lianne Bruce. It was performed in April 1985 at the Bridgwater Art Centre and also at Wellington Art Centre that same year.

The plot was a send up of early ’60s  teen-rock musicals only in this one ‘rather dull’ car park attendant ‘Rockin’ Brian’ (played by Smedley in a Brummie accent) is faced with his car park being closed down and turned into a disco. Naturally he gets the ‘kids’ to help, ably assisted by ‘Bobby Bland’ (Lianne Bruce), who rounds them up Magnificent 7 style. Betty Bonkers (Anne Dixey) is the feminist housewife who rejects life with her oppressive husband (hilariously played by Dave Newton as Bert Bonkers), Bing Beasley (Gareth) is a wild teenage tearaway and Ghenghiz-2-Stroke (Croskell) a rather odd beatnik poet.

Sedgemorons drummer Nervo just drums and saxman Barry Thompson plays ‘Thrud’ the doorman and head bouncer to villain in chief Roland Bagley (played by Adrian Fraser in one show and Dave Hanna in the next)

Most Sheep Worrying shows have absolutely no moving record of them but this one featured a segment on the BBC with the cast in costume. the only surviving moving images of the Sedgemorons performing.

Songs from the show continued to be featured in the Sedgemorons set plus later sets by Red Smed.
