Rock,Rock,Rock (etc) was a Sheep Worrying Theatre production written largely by Kim Newman , Eugene Byrne and Brian Smedley with input from Alex Dunn and Neil Gaiman and with music by Brian Smedley.

The cast of ‘Rock,Rock,Rock’

Staged in 1987 at the Bridgwater Arts Centre, the show took the form of a live TV pop show and traced the history of popular music from the 50’s through to the 80’s.

The cast included Eugene Byrne as TV host Alan Greed, Brian Smedley as ‘plump’ rock star The Fat Bopper, Matt Bartlett as rebellious teenager Johnny Annoyed, Ann Fraser as ‘Little Bimbo’ and Sam Terry as ‘Kathy Kardiff’.

On stage musicians included Dale Bruton (bass) Kevin Freeman (drums) Brian Smedley (guitar).

The show also featured the jive dancing of Mike Bragg, Mick Buckland, Sarah Trethewey and Viv Evans.

Songs from the show have featured in many future live sets of Club Whoopee, Red Smed band, The Spanners and the Funbunnies.
