‘The Bad New Days’ was the final Sheep Worrying Theatre production and took place at the Bridgwater Arts Centre in December 1990. It was written by various members of the cast including Brian Smedley, Mac McCausland, Ann Fraser, Jonnuf Richards and Andy Pole.

Music Hall entertainment in ‘The Bad New Days’ Sheep Worrying’s final show

The show was performed in the style of the ‘Good Old Days’ featuring Stuart Croskell as a largely improvising ‘Compere’ and a variety of song and dance numbers in a music hall style written by Smedley and McCausland and featuring Elaine Di Campo, Mac, Ann Fraser and Kevin Freeman.

Ann Frasers song ‘CJs and Toffs’ juxtaposed Bridgwater Night Clubs with East End Pubs and Macs ‘Maybe it’s because I’m a Londoner that Glasgae belongs to me’ were highlights.

The last song Brian Smedley wrote for a Sheep Worrying show was ‘Me and My Little Girl’ which was sang onstage by Elaine di Campo to an inflatable bear called Colin.
